Dear Gladys, please explain why you neglect South Western Sydney

Gladys Berejiklian owes the communities of South Western Sydney a proper explanation of how terminating the Inner West Line at Homebush has improved services for Lidcombe to Liverpool via Regents Park commuters. The State Government also needs to tell why it cut the Inner West Line and over 80% trains for the area. So far our requests for a formal meeting or even a decent response (not one half related statement that is just copied from the Transport NSW website) have fallen on deaf ears.

The NSW Liberal State Government under Mike Baird (Premier) and Gladys Berejiklian (Transport Minister) continues to boast of service improvements while commuters, residents, students, the elderly and families suffer from a lack of public transport. The State Government is also willing to risk public safety by increasing overcrowding at Lidcombe station and on City bound trains due to the forced interchange. Road traffic has also worsened particularly at the Arthur St and Centennial Drive intersection in Flemington as the cuts to the Inner West Line has separated Lidcombe and Homebush forcing more drivers onto the roads.

A commuter travelling from Lidcombe to Berala sent us this picture at Lidcombe station. He has to wait 28 minutes for the next train (on the Bankstown Line). Previously under the old timetables (pre-October 20, 2013) with the Inner West Line going through Lidcombe to Liverpool via Regents Park, there were more train services for the area and there was no need to wait nearly half an hour for a train. The picture shows that it is 2:46pm in the afternoon and under the old timetables there would be a 2:54pm and a 3:09pm train that he could have boarded.

We cannot let the government get away with such neglect. Take action today and at the next election. Here's what you can do!
