Community calls on Luke Foley to support Restore Inner West Line

Western Sydney Locals seek official commitment from Labor to reinstate train services

March 1, 2015:  The Liberal government’s ignorance of Western & South Western Sydney commuters is being deafened by the Labor opposition’s lack of a position regarding the former Liverpool via Regents Park (Inner West Line) train services, which were cut as a result of the October 2013 timetable changes.

Outgoing Auburn MP Barbara Perry (Labor) and current Bankstown MP Tania Mihailuk (Labor) have been supportive of the Restore Inner West Line petition and community action group. Restore Inner West Line also welcomes the positive comments of the Shadow Transport Spokesperson Penny Sharpe.

However on the state political level, Restore Inner West Line has had difficulty ascertaining a clear position from NSW Labor and Opposition Leader Luke Foley (Labor Candidate for Auburn) for the reinstatement of the Liverpool via Regents Park (Inner West Line) train services.

The infrastructure policy released by Opposition Leader Luke Foley in February does not provide any clarity in regards to the reinstatement of the Liverpool via Regents Park (Inner West Line) train services.

Community members and commuters across Western and South Western Sydney including residents from the electoral seat of Auburn are calling for NSW Labor and Opposition Leader Luke Foley to support the Restore Inner West Line petition and community action group with a commitment to reinstating the Liverpool via Regents Park (Inner West Line) train services.
